There is certainly a lot of valid and invalid arguments flying around. I personally understand why it was leaked and the outrage tickets got stamped and posted by social media (its great for that), but I also don't think its particularly balanced in how its reported.
I don't think there is a consensus among D&D players that they are all against wizards, certainly some feel like the terms are not the egregious with the arguments that it doesn't effect the vast majority of them who make content for the joy of it - and the idea for many that wizards would use their stuff in the official game is also something people mentioned on forums as things people would actually be thrilled about, which is amusing - but understandable from an individuals perspective.
I think for those 20 or so big publishers, its clearly very disruptive and borderline untenable in its current form, and so its unsurprising that they would of leaked it and a campaign for change got under way. Personally, while I don't mind that wizards might want to get some kind of monetary rewards from these large organisation that effectively have become their competition leaning on what they have built, I think the license back part (with no compensation to the owner) is an absolutely flawed approach and unfair to an existing large publishing company.
I like the change the wizards seem to have put out, and you can bet you bottom dollar that Paizo are praying for it. A new Paizo designed license means nothing unless its the one wizard adopts it (which is just not plausible). All the noise the big publishers make right now is 'negotiation' by doing the only thing they can, which is by taking advantage of as much sentiment as they can for and against the brands involved. Sure some _will_ make new systems, but starting out from scratch will be a quick lesson in player base economics.
I just hope they all work it out, that wizards backs down a fair bit, and that wizards and those 20 big publishers make peace with the communities, because its just going to create rifts with players moving forward.
