The smallest farms in the world, like the one on the ISS, is also the most expensive. It's a research farm aimed at merely spicing up the astro-diet. They're a long way from sustainability.

*we* Don't bring me into this, I already pay them a decent wage. I come from a long line of farmers. My uncle was a farmer, and I pay local farmers to grow seasonal crops for me as part of a local farm co-op. If you think paying more for everything will solve the problems, why not just do it? Literally nothing is stopping you. The reason farm laborers are not paid a lot is because it doesn't take a lot of training or talent to do the job - and the fruits of their labor are commodities that require tons of productivity in order to make any kinds of profits required for capital improvements, crop insurance, and seed for the next year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?...
