In response to Dell's Idea Storm, Dell is looking at options to install Linux on desktop systems. From the article:

From the article: 'Only three executives at the carrier, which is now the wireless unit of AT&T Inc., got to see the iPhone before it was announced. Cingular agreed to leave its brand off the body of the phone. Upsetting some Cingular insiders, it also abandoned its usual insistence that phone makers carry its software for Web surfing, ringtones and other services. ... Mr. Jobs once referred to telecom operators as "orifices" that other companies, including phone makers, must go through to reach consumers. Submission + - Take Microsoft's Linux money, says Red Hat
Robert writes: Red Hat CEO has said the company is encouraging customers to adopt Microsoft's offer of
support vouchers for Novell's rival Linux operating system in order to get the issue over
with. Speaking at the Merrill Lynch internet, software and services conference, Red Hat's
CEO, Matthew Szulik, dismissed the impact that deal has had on it's business. "I
think that there has been a strong amount of external communication by Microsoft and
Novell on this topic," he said. "We certainly expect that there will be those
cases where customers will consume those coupons. We're
certainly encouraging one or two customers to consume all of them, let's get this over
with."

I'm currently starting work on a accounts/stock package which will be oss however the tax side will be commercial mainly because of the amount of work needed to keep it accurate and up to date. However the tax would only be designed for the England/Wales tax system.
