Comment Serious Suggestions (Score 1) 513

As a majority of people have already stated emulators can be fairly entertaining. Also as previously suggested... get a console. Games for Xbox and PS2 can be had fairly cheaply from a used games store. These options aside, I have a few other suggestions for you. Casual gaming on the internet is really taking off. Kongregate.com, Addicting games.com, and a host of other sites offer a wide variety of interesting games to play. If you would like to stay fixed on your laptop I might suggest "You Don't Know Jack", or anything from the Worms series (Made by Team 17).

Submission + - Intel opens up FSB to the world

vivin writes: "The Inquirer has reported that Intel has opened up it's FSB. Intel did this during IDF 07. What this means is that you can plug in non-Intel things into the Intel CPU socket. The article says 'This shows that Intel is willing to take AMD seriously as a competitive threat, and is prepared to act upon it. In addition to this breaking one of the most sacred taboos at Intel, it also hints that engineering now has the upper hand over beuraucracy.'"

Journal Journal: Firehose has a feed 2

For those who don't know, Slashdot subscribers have been able to peek into the Slashdot submission queue for awhile in a neat feature known as the Firehose. I don't use the Firehose very often, but it's nice to have it there, and it's one reason I'm still a Slashdot subscriber.

So I peeked in today, and noticed that there's now a Firehose feed. Not sure if I'd ever want to subscribe, but that's pretty cool.
