None of them move their families to Ottawa anymore - it's just an air-commute now. They even cut back the Friday House of Commons schedule so people could leave early.

When the power goes out for a day or two, it's nice to have gas. It makes you less reliant on the government in times of no electricity in winter. There's ways around that, but there it is. When the next ice storm hits the Northeast, all those people just on electricity will be going to a shelter because they have no way to stay warm.
