While I wouldn't want to rent out space on my hard drive, what if I could get everyone in my family to work together and share some HD space and have a family Virtual SAN? That would be cool. Then I can control who is using the space, not everyone in my family does use all of their hard drive. I can put family pictures in the Family SAN, and automatically everyone can access them. While I don't like the original idea, there are potentials for it.

If there was anything I learned from the Connect conference today, at the very least, Microsoft wants to be a player on all platforms. They are removing restrictions that used to limit their reach to just the Windows platform. In order to be relevant, they had to open up their systems. This allows .NET to compete in the OSX, iOS, and Android markets. Those markets are huge, and they want to play. These tools make it very easy to build once and deploy anywhere. Isn't that the ultimate goal? Don't we all want to build one solution and have it be an application, a website, a mobile application, on all platforms all at once? They are just striving for that.

Can you tell me one single product that has been secure from the beginning? Unfortunately we are not all perfect and that includes programmers and all scenarios can not be anticipated by a small team in comparison to the number of users and exploiters out there. Come to reality and realize that the story is... Microsoft is doing the best they can, and they continue to do better.

I believe that there is a lot of negative Microsoft statements thrown around with no substantial information provided. "Microsoft and Vista Suck" is not really any sort of intelligent statement. Microsoft has done a lot of good and are continuing to. So bring on the positive Microsoft statements, maybe if they didn't have to spend all their time fighting people's view on them they could spend more time helping to further the OS world.
