I wrote the headline, and you're correct that I had a misconception about what "comes full circle" means (no one else seems to have caught my error either, even in the Ars comments). I apologize for my mistake. We're a small publication (in terms of employee count), and reader feedback helps us a lot when we make mistakes like this. I think I found a better alternative and have changed the headline.
