The original creators/writers of the Onion sold it off a long time ago.
The guy who started it all is now the publisher of The Stranger ( http://www.thestranger.com/seattle/Home/ ), a highly regarded, alternative newspaper for the Seattle area.
(He's the brother of a very good friend of mine)
