That's right, I said fuck tipping. I'm the guy who gives the pizza guy exact change and sends him away. Because I fucking hate people looking for handouts. Especially when people who have more than I do ask for it, like Slashdot or the pizza guy. This is the most disgusting thing you could have done to Slashdot. Maybe it'd run better if you moved it onto WindowsNT servers. They wouldn't suck as much as Linux does at least. Maybe you'd get lower traffic when all the whiney little Linux bitches find out and leave, but that'd just lower your costs even more. You could pimp out CowboyNeal and make some money there. And you can sell hardware, too. You guys all suck at managing money. Buy hardware from Goodwilland Salvation Army. Drop all the crazy heavy html and make things lite. Eliminate even the slashdot logo graphic that's in the upper left corner of every page and you could save a ton of bandwidth. And don't generate so many pages on the fly. I'd imagine that most folks front pages don't look to different from each other.... Just let that slide. Maybe only update the indexes every 5 minutes or so. There are many ways to save money, but you're just being assholes and asking for a handout, and even punishing those who refuse to pay.
