While I agree with you for the most part, we need to head toward corporations handling things like resources and pettiness. Take a company like IBM that has a giant cash flow and could literally hire thousands of westerner developers or millions of Indian developers. With a corporation that is bound to be fair by federal laws, we would *have* to get women more involved in programming and the Linux kernel etc. Linus Torvalds would not be able to weasel around the Code Of Conduct and would be forced out like Richard Stallmann if he tried. So that keeps these people in check. Linux has so much momentum anyway these days nobody has much use for him.

So I think moving to have the Linux project managed by people who know how to run a business would be a longsided way of looking at things, and we really should have the discussion.

Case in point: Take a raw egg and blend it THOROUGHLY. Take the smallest spoon you have and get a dollop of it and put that in a coffee cup. Fill that with water. Now you do the same thing with salt. Pour as little salt as possible into a coffee cup, mix with water, and take an eyedropper and grab some. Repeat the same process with the salt and eyedropper 32 times. Your salt water is still salt water and has the healing properties BUT IT ISN'T SALTY. Mom was dying of kidney damage because she was misled by her ex husband in her youth and could not get a transplant because of this. Ironic but it figures.

The kicker was when I mixed arsenic from a special chip I bought on eBay. It was hard to find arsenic, so I got a "GAS" chip, cracked open the case, and dremelled enough dust to do the salt trick. You put only a little in because arsenic is highly toxic but you need the cleansing power it has against bugs (not *limited* to insects).
