Me too. Even though it was not a very good/exciting photo, the post apocalyptic content (post office always is there, right?) made me laugh.

  • Nice shots. What is SLC?

Thanks. SLC stands for Salt Lake City, the place where I live.

      • Sorry, so then what's the Aftermath? Or is it just the aftermath of a photo walk?

(I actually thought there was a chance SLC stood for Salt Lake City because I know you work for the University of Utah)

Do you put your shots online anywhere other than your blog (eg, on a Flickr account)? You seem to have a good eye, and I'd be interesting in seeing more of your work. <Shameless plug of my own work> [flickr.com]

Yeah, the aftermath was just the post photowalk period. Not the best title, but I was sooo tired and wet after the photowalk that it seemed appropriate at the time even though it was successful.

With respect to your photos, they are gorgeous and I've added you to my contact list so that I can keep up with your photographs.

          • Thanks for the relationship change on both sides =)

I'm a fan of your macro work for sure!!

Is the Photo Walk an organized event, or just some friends getting together?

Is the Photo Walk an organized event, or just some friends getting together?

Well, it really started as a spontaneous gathering of folks from the Internet who got together to take photography. I was friends with one person, and remotely acquainted with another prior to the event, but now that we know each other they are becoming organized events that welcome new folks at any time.

  • I'd have to say, you take very good portrait shots. Or maybe it's your choice of who to shoot-- the people in your pictures tend to look like they have interesting personalities.

I like to pick folks with interesting faces. But the interesting thing about people is that if you dig just a bit, most people have have at least some degree of interesting history behind them. I've historically not been very good at photographing people, but it is something that I am working at.

  • Call me a geek, but do you now have red+amber traffic light phases, or did you just catch an old fashioned incandescent traffic light changing before the amber light's filament had cooled down?

We have red+amber here. Very useful, it lets you know that the light is about to go green, so gives you a second or two to put the car in 1st gear before the light actually turns green.

Yeah, I caught an old fashioned light changing, but I wish we had the red+amber here as it is most useful. That was one of the things that impressed me with our last trip to the UK.

We are starting to implement turn left on dedicated yellow arrows though which is a bit better.
