Comment Big Weak Franchise! (Score 1) 59

Playing this game over the years, it's safe to say this Franchise is ToasT without Real Leadership... We've gone from Trying to be the Leader, to Focusing on $Profits. There seems to be Zero focus on product Stability or Play-ability, as everybody is busy either cross-training with AI to reskin all the old maps (AGAIN) or modeling some new black skin that is nearly invisible on most maps. Thanks for that Lazy Pay to WIN... I have no idea why people continue to Pre-Pay for Garbage while the product being produced is at Best, Unfinished... The last several Campaigns have had soooo many bugs it was impossible to actually earn the Trophies for Months. Thanks for eventually caring enough to finish the product! (Kind of) We didn't even have Hardcore available on the last release. We had to wait, then just Accept the game mode is flat Broken. Hit markers are the norm, just roll the dice for Play-ability... No less than Half of matches are flat out Trash... My first Burst of fire has no effect. On the second burst, the second bullet is finally a kill. REALLY? We have fights with an automatic Assault/Battle/Marksman Rifle (Yes, even MGs) vs a Pistol where we get multiple hit markers & fall over with one returned bullet? Gotta LOVE those "Assists"... I happen to roll a PS4 Pro with an SSD hard drive upgrade. It's obviously not the Game itself, but the Adjustments made. While I understand you can't FIX the Internet, these guys assume they Can! Welcome to SBMM, Sales Based Market Manipulation! We Continue to be served a Poor Product Experience. We hear of Amazing Technology protecting us: RICOCHET anyone? LMAO!! Yet in Reality, all we get is "LOL" and Crickets. They already have your $, no need to Fix Anything... Obviously, Nothing is done to combat Consistent, Unfair game play... Now we've gone to mimicking movements of other shrug games? Get Real & Create an Innovative Product. Be the LEADER! Until then, Activision will not see Any of My Money... Cherio!

Submission + - China behind 96% of all cyber-espionage data breaches, Verizon report claims (networkworld.com)

colinneagle writes: Verizon's 2013 Data Breach Investigation Report is out and includes data gathered by its own forensics team and data breach info from 19 partner organizations worldwide. China was involved in 96% of all espionage data-breach incidents, most often targeting manufacturing, professional and transportation industries, the report claims. The assets China targeted within those industries included laptop/desktop, file server, mail server and directory server, in order to steal credentials, internal organization data, trade secrets and system info. A whopping 95% of the attacks started with phishing to get a toehold into their victim's systems. The report states that, "Phishing techniques have become much more sophisticated, often targeting specific individuals (spear phishing) and using tactics that are harder for IT to control. For example, now that people are suspicious of email, phishers are using phone calls and social networking." It is unknown who the nation-state actors were in the other 4% of breaches, which the report says "may mean that other threat groups perform their activities with greater stealth and subterfuge. But it could also mean that China is, in fact, the most active source of national and industrial espionage in the world today."

A little stress test should be part of the hiring process. Do you really want employee's that freeze when the situation gets sticky? Fact is, the job still needs to be done competently and quickly leaving little room for simple mistakes which often happen under those conditions... In any environment there are going to be stressful moments, you want cool calm & collective personalities that can get to the net & maintain politically correctness. The ability to gently tell the COO "alright, let's take a look, please calm down & let's get to the bottom of this" is an invaluable trait... I give it a thumbs up as a key way to identify those who can do the job without freaking out, potentially adding to the issues at hand.
