Reminds me of the early 2000â(TM)s when I got a free desktop from the Free-PC thing. It was a base model Compaq Presario with a 14â monitor and there was an ad banner across the desktop at all times. I've been saying for ages the way to save money, gasoline, and improve service is cut the delivery days in half. Nobody needs mail delivery six days a week in this age where most documents are available digitally. Focus on moving commercial customers to M-W-F delivery. Focus on moving residential customers to T-Th-Sa delivery. If you want better service than that, you can pay FedEx/UPS/DHL/Carrier Pigeons.

So I had not thought about ICQ in years, probably 10-15 or so. Story prompted me to download the app. Somehow I remembered my UIN and guessed my password - boom logged in! Unfortunately they did not preserve the contact lists from ages ago. A quick search revealed other users on Reddit encountered the same problem. So close but so far. Would have been amazing to contact people from ages ago... I'm talking AGES ago, like this was the main form of communication for BattleTech Solaris, if any of you are old enough to have played that amazing and groundbreaking game... ahhh those were the days.
