Do you really mean that the second best explanation is God did it((TM)). Even "the species have always been here" makes less assumptions, predicts as little and is therefore better than creationism.
It isn't easy being the parent of a six-year-old. However, it's a pretty small price to pay for having somebody around the house who understands computers.
