World's Oldest Fossils Found In Australia 85

Dexter Herbivore sends this quote from the Washington Post: "Scientists analyzing Australian rocks have discovered traces of bacteria that lived a record-breaking 3.49 billion years ago, a mere billion years after Earth formed. If the find withstands the scrutiny that inevitably faces claims of fossils this old, it could move scientists one step closer to understanding the first chapters of life on Earth. The discovery could also spur the search for ancient life on other planets. These traces of bacteria 'are the oldest fossils ever described. Those are our oldest ancestors,' said Nora Noffke, a biogeochemist at Old Dominion University in Norfolk who was part of the group that made the find and presented it last month at a meeting of the Geological Society of America."

Have you seen the US borders and illegal population at this point? Have you seen the amount of money the US sends out of the country in aid and support? If the US was truely nationalistic, then there would be a lot less trouble both in the country and the rest of the world. Granted, there would be less aid monies and support that would have to be taken up be the rest of the world, but maybe some inward focus would solve both the US troubles and keep the US out of trouble with the Middle East and other locations it seems to not be wanted.

Since you asked opinions of what to do for 3 days, I would spend it personally just figuring out the direction of EA's headquarters from your location in the world and occasionally giving them a middle-fingered salute like they've done to nearly every quality game company they've 'aquired' over the years.

Apple Rips Off Rejected App, Says Wireless Sync Developer 549

Haedrian writes "Apple is famous for going to absurd lengths to enforce its patents and trademarks. It recently sued Amazon for calling its app store Appstore. And it has publicly lectured competitors to 'create their own original technology, not steal ours.' Last year, UK developer Greg Hughes submitted an app for wirelessly syncing iPhones with iTunes libraries, which was rejected from the official App Store. Fast forward to Monday, when Apple unveiled a set of new features for the upcoming iOS 5, including the same wireless-syncing functionality. Cupertino wasn't even subtle about the appropriation, using the precise name and a near-identical logo to market the technology."
