You can attach a shotgun mic to your camera. The video feed out of the camera has a 200-400ms delay, so if you use a mic other than the one on your camera (or an external one attached to the said camera) you will get unsynchronized sound. streaming is different, because everyone uses OBS, and can introduce a delay for sound to sync the feeds up. No such thing for something that is supposed to work as a simple communication device such as webcam.

This software does not transmit audio, so it's not a full webcam replacement. Buying a cheap HDMI to USB dongle is much better, and will work on any camera that provides a clean HDMI output. And it's 2020, how come not every single camera in the market is not a plug&play webcam already and requires software/dongles?

When did internal Chinese (or anyone else's) propaganda become the concern of a free and private western company? And when will this slippery slope affect us living in the west? As far as I could tell (living abroad myself and getting the news from the friends, family and the online media there) the government didn't censor the news of the disease, but went ahead with the election and didn't postpone it, taking a few measures, most half-baked, to prevent the spread of the disease. I don't think they had the foggiest idea of how deep they were in trouble, considering the number of law makers that came down with the disease, most having contracted them during the campaigning. The western media is just so blatantly trying to push opinion as news nowadays that it has become practically painful to read; and not just about Iran.

No internet filtering other than the usual. There has been massive western media misinformation and schadenfreude over what's going on in Iran. Until a couple of days ago, the narrative was that Iran had the highest mortality rate outside of China and they blamed the government for it. But now that Italy has surpassed it both in numbers and per capita rate, same naked propaganda is being published without citing the numbers anymore. I understand if the government there tries to get a hold of the narrative to be able to prevent panic and manage the already grave situation. It has a trust deficit that just cannot replenish on short notice.
