Although I no longer give a flying-fuck about sex, I once did and I can tell you that, 1) I could give FUCK-ALL if a man was tall! I'm 5/3" if I stretch and my last boyfriend was 5'7" (self-reported, but if I had to guess I'd say he was STRETCHING WAY TALL!) I didn't care! He ended it, I didn't. 2) I've forgotten, but just don't get so down-hearted and defeated about it! It's not your height; it's your breath! Or body odor! or I dunno what, just keep putting yourself out there. And don't be so damn picky yourself! Somebody is out there.

I get what you are saying, but your sample size of two does not gibe with the rates for a larger population size. My grandmother, a lifelong smoker, had cardiology bills up the ying-yang. My grandfather didn't smoke, but was subjected to a LOT of second-hand smoke from Grandma. He had a couple of cardiac bypasses. They both lived into their 80's which I was sure happy about, but the Medicare folks probably not so much! There is a large group of people like my grandparents and not so many that just up and die quickly without expensive treatment and lingering morbidity.

In my clinical virology lab we get test samples several times a year from the College of American Pathologists (CAP) to assure that we maintain our competency in diagnosing viral agents. One year, a technologist noticed that the respiratory culture she was looking at was remarkably "hot." Turned out it was the 1918 Pandemic Influenza A strain that killed a bazillion people! Gee, thanks CAP! That should be handled in a Biosafety Level 5 lab, not a Biosafety 2 lab! Thank goodness I wasn't reading those tubes as I'm very clumsy and have dropped way too many culture tubes in my 20+ year career! (Most of the time, they were negative, phew!)
