I am not assuming the Russians innocent, but I haven't been at all impressed by so-called evidence (or the source of such) from the prior political arguments on this subject. On this one, if that security kid knows about that software, wouldn't a bunch of other kids also know? So it was tracked to an IP. That is interesting, but besides showing a *possible* correlation, does it give any ownership data? ______ Besides the obvious implications of trusting the security company of one's political opponents based on evidence the original NSA architects and whistleblowers say is suspect, it is naturally convenient for them.

I definitely have my political bias, but I have to be careful with it around things like this. Lately I've suggested regulating FB as a monopoly. To be honest, it's a bad situation when one set of ideologues get everyone's balls in a vice on speech. Today, the left has that ability with online platforms. I don't think this statement by Zuck is all that bad. Yes, he wants the money mainly, and having to reject ads that are paid would not benefit him at all. However, when you look at the political biases of his censors, I don't think FB censorship of political ads would be a positive thing for the world in any way.

Same thing. If you disagree, as 20% of the population on the truthfulness of many things with the other main segment of voters, about 20% of the population, then you decide that since you manage to control said platform you can always delete it, you will both never hear the end of it, be headed for violence, and ultimately you will have secured borders between you.

To be fair, I strongly disagree with the president putting secret service in his hotel and getting paid for it. Note though that Congress isn't impeaching for corruption, as none of them would be clean (we really need to shake them all down hard, wish they were subject to the type of thing the Saudi princes got recently).

Hunter should not have been in that position. He brings absolutely nothing to the table. Here you are defending politicians putting family members with no qualifications whatsoever in leadership positions that imply kickbacks (theft of taxpayer money).

I think a good way to do it is to have an open source identity system that a lot of cloud services support and which gives you your own personal site with the click of a button. Identity doesn't have to be directly linked to government. You just have many identity providers supported, and ultimately you once again have an email and are paying a cloud provider if you don't roll a server.

I fully support Snowden. Our government is committing crimes against us as well as leveraging weapon systems against us in ways that lead to ultimately sidestepping our justice system, disconnecting us from representation. No jury trial means he is a political prisoner to an enemy entity.
