The solution is to schedule a manual recording. Pick Programs to Record -> Record by Time or Channel -> Manually Record Time/Channel. Set it to record from 10pm to 11pm.
If it happens once, it's a bug. If it happens twice, it's a feature. If it happens more than twice, it's a design philosophy.
