Journal Journal: Political telemarketing calls - how to fight back.
I realize that politicians have legislated themselves a loophole in the Federal "do not call" telemarketing laws. However I find it despicable to come home and find my answering machine filled up with recorded attack ads from the candidates. Jack Davis in particular has left three two minute Reynolds bashing ads on my answering machine in the past week alone. To date, I have received two similar calls from Tom Reynolds.
Just because they gave themselves an out in the Do-not-call laws, I would think that canidates would be very cautious in calling people who have asked to have their phone privacy preserved. I fume each time I get one of these calls.
Bottom line: I have no reason to prefer one candidate over the other. They have abandoned the moderate voters for the extremes left or right. So here is how I intend to vote:
I am keeping a running tally of the number of calls I get from campaigns in spite of my Do-Not-Call preference and I intend to vote for the candidate that calls me the fewest times. Call it a "negative" vote.
