Divvy, http://mizage.com/windivvy/ has worked well for me. Lets you re-size windows to a grid, either by click+draging over the the relevant grid area or by setting up hotkeys. I set up hotkeys for fullscreen, top half, bottom half, left half, right half, and the four quadrants, but the grid is fairly precise and flexible so there's a lot you can do with it.
