Submission + - Online cartoons the hard way (sueddeutsche.de)

Andreas Schaefer writes: In a move to create even more page impressions and higher click rates Sueddeutsche Zeitung, one of Germany's largest newspapers, decided to make comic strips almost unreadable in their online version. Each strip is cut into a series of single images and strung together in one large slideshow (click link to see the abomination, never mind the lame German translations). Imagine having to click through Cathy, Family Circus, Marmaduke, The Wizard of Id and Garfield to get to your daily dosis of Bizarro... Apparently page impressions are still the key metric to newspapers online.
