Second I want to mention that real booklovers that read more books then they can afford still buy the books they really like even if it is just because that will allow them lo lend a book to friends and convince them a particular author is very good.
I don't know about that. I consider myself a "real booklover". I go through 2-3 books a week sometimes. I can't remember the last time I bought a book new - especially not in hard cover. That's what the library is for.
Wait - I did buy a bunch of used paperbacks at a yard sale in January. They were a buck though.
