Comment From an unwanted child... (Score 1) 391

My existence brought resentment, anger, disappointment, and I felt it all the way growing up. So in this debate, I ask you to consider the opinion of an

Unwanted Child

This is the single thing that makes me pro-choice. If a child is not wanted, will not be loved, let it be not born. At least give it that much consideration - since we did not create ourselves or choose the family to which we will be born to.

I feel with the people in Shanghai. Since now there are medicines and treatments for COVID, this 'outbreak' as tough as it is, does not warrant the complete chokehold on the city as it's been implemented. Simply exercise caution, use masks when needed, get treatment when necessary, this spike will be over like the rest of the spikes were. Now apparently the government allows pre-authorized people/families who have private cars to leave. I would not be surprised if most of them would not head back to Shanghai ever again...

The US court should rule against the website operators, block their specific ISP from carrying the traffic, or confiscate their corporate assets (assuming the entity is IS based). It should not be demanding unrelated third parties from having to take action

Be careful because that would be a slippery slope. What other content the federal government would like to ban? This could get really political really fast and nobody wants that.

In some countries 5G uses different bands, so does not affect aircraft. In others they have the same problem so will be mandating retrofits too. Any aircraft planning to land in the US must comply with US rules. Not sure about overflights.

Overflights happen at a high altitude, where no radio altimeter is used.

Comment Re:Why do they want people back in the office? (Score 1) 97

Here in NYC the government wants everybody back in offices, because then they will be taking public transportation (as in Subway) and if they make it to work without beaten up, pushed onto the tracks, or stabbed, they will go out and buy lunch and do their shopping in the city, plus the occasional after-work get-together in the local bar or restaurant. All these will positively impact the economy and thus get more taxes. It is also obvious that they need to "heal" people from the lockdown mentality. (Good luck) Should there come another lockdown, there may not be much of a city to re-open.

All this said, tech companies, especially not the giant ones, are beginning to realize that there is no need for an "office headquarters". Where I work, we are from all over the Country, working probably much more than 8 hrs a day (because we are having fun with it) and planning to organize a company get-together somewhere fun when all this Covid issue is finally completely over.

I'll be happy to watch European movies on Netflix and not have to pay other providers. There is no logical reason for this. If you ar in the US you can only watch this, and I want you to watch this so I keep pushing it to you. Who wants to pay for that?
