Cell phone companies take a hit every time these sell you a phone on contract discount...they want to make money on the monthly bill over the long term.
Microsoft will quickly make their money back with online services and game licensing.
Predatory pricing? People are such wimps...can you imagine complaining because the thing is too cheap?
