So is a GS-R enough for you to drool over? After all, I commute on the road, not the racetrack, every day. I'll agree with you that the baseline integras suck, though.
I walked into the dealership. "I want to test drive an Integra GS-R"
Salesman: "Uh..um..you know, those only come with standard transmission. Why don't you try a GS, it costs less."
So, since it cost less, I tried the GS. I felt like I was driving one of those putt-putt cars they have on tracks at amusement parks for little kids to drive.
We got back to the dealership.
"So, what do you think?"
"I think I'd like to try a GS-R"
"well...ok"
The difference was remarkable.
After we got back, the salesman said, "You know, I have young women coming in here all the time wanting to test drive sticks, and most of them haven't driven one before and it can get scary riding with them." I didn't write it off as sleazy salesman talk since I think I can count on one hand the times I've driven an automatic.
I like automatics about as much as I like Windows. If I have a machine that is supposed to be a tool for my use, I want to have as much control over its behaviour as possible!
