It's pretending the cheap knock-off sdcards on amazon don't noticeably lose data earlier or run slower. Pretending knock-off SSDs don't wrap around to the beginning earlier than their reported sizes.

So I am normally anti DRM and would normally complain loudly about this lock but if you read into it the idea makes perfect sense and it's less of a "lock" and more about "authenticity".

People were buying these with the lowest ram, sourcing crappy questionable ram and upgrading them then reselling at the higher cost which left people eventually holding the bag when the memory errors and such appeared.

When you get one and flash the official image the "lock" is in effect. Anyone can make their own image without it thus the end user tinkerers can STILL UPGRADE THEIR RAM. This just stops someone from selling a knock-off upgraded PI as "genuine" because people will likely expect to flash official images on it. This just thwarts those plans and keeps the higher quality chips around for people.

If you don't like this buy the cheap one, get the ram chip and ugrade it and remove the lock yourself. Tinkering still works....

I have always been super contemptful of courts. I look at them like you look at a court of a primitive people discovered in StarTrek who think they need to hold trial for one of the StarTrek redshirts they want to kill for some pointless stupid thing like âoeusing a communicatorâ.

In any group of mixed people you can identify the successful by seeing who isnt allowed to retain their own culture.

I watched kids in my high school âoeget tiredâ of other cultures and âoego be with their kindâ. When they did this other races were not allowed to follow them. They got to go do all their segregated stuff free of any other cultures behind closed doors and then return to the mixed group âoewhen comfortableâ. The most successful group cannot do this. They are followed no matter where and are not allowed to form any kind of private like minded culture. Whatsoever.

The most successful simply *cannot* do this. Everyone gets to free for all on their culture and their desire to gather like minded people will be viewed as greedy and exclusionary. But this is totally fine for the non successful groups to do. They can have their own events with race checked at the door.

This is how you identify it. Can you grow tired of the other cultures and gather your culture in private? If yes you are not the most successful group in the location you are in.

Yeah I do this when I play Whack-A-Mole. I hit one singular Mole into the hole, then I camp that hole ignoring all others while I proclaim that I have eradicated all Moles, everywhere.

There was a youtube video about when seemingly *all* products across multiple companies switched to non-repairable designs for things like washing machines and dryers that used to be super serviceable. He goes into detail showing an older model where the thing that holds the belts is just bolted on, then the *new* ones from multiple brands all the same year moved to a casted plastic thing that cannot be opened to replace a belt without breaking it then it cant reseal. All intentional and it would ruin any single company that did it so they colluded and *all* did it at once so the consumer has no other choice.

There is a word for this... and it isn't something that is legal.
