Comment Never had subscription TV service (Score 1) 1

To be honest I never used to watch much TV. My parents refused to pay for cable and there wasn't much I was interested in on broadcast TV. With the advent of services like Hulu and Netflix I have started to spend a lot more time watching shows on demand. I think it is the way broadcast TV is going to have to move. My parents purchased an M$ Xbox 360 and use it to stream Netflix every day. The best part is there is no advertisements, short of in media advertisements. The only thing that will upset me is all the money that went into digital converter boxes, what a waste that is if they get rid of broadcast TV. I also would want to draw attention to the old and otherwise incapable people that use broadcast TV. We all remember the litany of commercials showing poor grandma trying to hook up a converter box, how about asking her to use a PC or other streaming device? Alas, we all must adapt at some point but let the stations die on their own. If they can't sell advertisements because no one is using the service anymore then the medium will die on it's own.

You're assuming that your neighbor wants to provide their full allotment of labor. Regardless of what a society values as important if its contributors don't actively participate then your system fails. The pursuit of producing what you are able to and gaining your goals is what makes a free market thrive.
