North Korea Announces Achieving Nuclear Fusion 372

aftertaf writes "North Korea claims to have achieved nuclear fusion by building what it describes as a 'unique thermo-nuclear reaction device.' This announcement was met by skepticism on just about every news website this side of Saturn. Pyongyang claims its latest scientific breakthrough coincides with the birthday of the country's founder and eternal president Kim Il-sung. This is not the first time it seems that the laws of nature have been bent in his honor. According to official biographies, when his son, Kim Jong-il, was born, a new star appeared in the sky." No doubt the Dear Leader combined the atomic nuclei by hand.

Researchers Demo Hardware Attacks Against India's E-Voting Machines 179

An anonymous reader writes "India, the world's largest democracy, votes entirely on government-made electronic voting machines that authorities claim are 'tamperproof,' 'infallible,' and 'perfect,' but last week security researchers proved that they can be manipulated to steal elections. A team led by Hari Prasad, Professor J. Alex Halderman, and Rop Gonggrijp released an awesome video that shows off hardware hacks they built. These machines are much simpler than e-voting designs used in the US, but as the research paper explains, this makes attacking the hardware even easier. Halderman's students at the University of Michigan took only about a week to build a replacement display board that lies about the vote totals, and the team also built a pocket-sized device that clips onto the memory chips, with the machine powered on, and rewrites the votes. Clippy says, 'It looks like you're trying to rig an election ...'"

This is the first "solid fueled" Supersonic "Maneuverable" Cruise Missile. Not Liquid fueled one, like the ancient American ones or vintage variety of USSR. Also the Vintage variety needs to be fueled just before it is to be fired. This is a real waste of time in war scenes. There is zero fueling time for Bhramos as opposed to the earlier variety. Liquid Fueled ones are easy to Control as the fuel ignition can be controlled to direct the missiles. However the solid fueled ones need sophisticated systems (that USA does'nt have the money or Talent to invest in) as once the solid fuel starts propelling the missile, it cannot be slowed or shutdown to direct the missile.
