Ah, good call. I should have stated more clearly-- According to ABC's Nightline, Israel airliners are thought to be equipped with a laser device that that can destroy an incoming missile. I was referring to the implementation of missile-destroying lasers on aircraft, not that particular laser. In fact it is supposedly a device that "jams" an incoming heat-seeking missile, essentially making it think it has hit it's target while still some distance away from the plane.
The Israeli government refuses to confirm or deny this allegation.
