Journal Journal: Maricopa TI on I-10 Destroyed
Over the weekend, ADOT destroyed the old Maricopa TI on I-10.
The Maricopa TI is just 1.5 miles south of Loop 202 (San Tan) and I-10.
The new interchange is not a cloverleaf, but rather a standard interchange. Maricopa Rd is being realigned as well and is a lot more straighter. This is to aid access to a Casino.
I-10 is also being widened from AZL-202 near limits to SR-347. It will be widened to 6 lanes.
Journal Journal: Interstate 10 Widening; Arizona Loop 101 Lane Additions
The Interstate 10 Marana widening (Marana Rd - Cortaro Rd, about 10 miles) will be placed for bids in the middle of May. The project is expected to take from 16- to 18- months and is budgeted for $21,000,000.
The Arizona Loop 101 auxiliary lanes near the Loop 202 is expected to have a 90 day turn around. There have been 15 working days already. It is graded and based in some places. I expect it to be done by the end of Feb.
Journal Journal: STATE ROUTE 51 CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
Just an update on how the construction for State Route 51 is coming along.
The project is a 75-million dollar HOV widening from Interstate 10 to Shea Blvd, a distance of about 10 miles, within a very cramped ROW, as well as direct HOV ramps from Interstate 10 to SR-51 and vice-versa. There is also minor right lane widening on Interstate 10. Minor ROW had to be bought from the city of Phoenix.
