As one who has to share data via FTPS between several design centers, one being in Shanghai and others in Bangalore, Monterrey and here in the US, there is a distict difference in upload/download speeds in China and the rest of the world. Everywhere but China, I enjoy 100Mbps on my FTPS connections between locations. The best I can achieve to and from Shanghai is 8-12 Mbps, although Beijing to Shanghai speeds are 50-75 Mbps. It seems all things pass slowly through the needle's eye of the "Great Wall".
