Well apparently optical cables are supposed to eliminate any threat of electro-magnetic interference. However, I've never heard of anyone having a problem with that using coax cables. Of course, what's going to make a *BIG* difference is what *BRAND* of cables you get. While paying $100 or more for a measly interconnect may sound ridiculous, it's more than worth it. I had one that actually sounded worse than the monster brand analog cables. I went out and got a Cinema Quest coax and it was sweet flying from there.

Quality cables are one of the most important things you can do to your system. But of course, the quality of the cables should correspond with the quality of your components.
