Study Says Your Personality Doesn't Change After 1st Grade 221

A study authored by Christopher Nave, a doctoral candidate at the University of California, says that our personalities stay pretty much the same from early childhood all the way through old age. From the article: "Using data from a 1960s study of approximately 2,400 ethnically diverse schoolchildren (grades 1 - 6) in Hawaii, researchers compared teacher personality ratings of the students with videotaped interviews of 144 of those individuals 40 years later. They examined four personality attributes - talkativeness (called verbal fluency), adaptability (cope well with new situations), impulsiveness and self-minimizing behavior (essentially being humble to the point of minimizing one's importance)." This must explain my overriding need to be first captain when we pick kickball teams at the office.

Playboy Launches Safe For Work Website 98

If you're one of the three people in the world who actually reads Playboy for the articles, today is your lucky day. Every young boy's favorite magazine to find in their uncle's closet has launched a "safe for work" website. From the article: "TheSmokingJacket.com will contain none of the nudity that makes Playboy.com NSFW — not suitable for work. Instead, it'll rely on humor to reach Playboy's target audience, men 25 to 34 years old, when they are most likely to be in front of a computer screen."

True, but providing clean water to more than a billion people is not cheap and not easy for sure. India's defense budget is significantly less than China's and only a fraction of USA's defense budget. National security is as important as the basic needs of the citizens. The root cause of the India's problem is the administrative system which is only about 60 year old. Our system has been evolving and the governments pro-technology attitude is driving the growth of India. We have a lot to learn from the developed nations, but certainly we are a lot better than some of the developed nations in areas such as health care & education (secondary education).

Fallout Online Website Arises Amid Legal Battle 85

Rumors of a Fallout MMO have been swirling for years, made all the more credible by hints from the legal battle between Bethesda and Interplay over licensing for the franchise. Now, Interplay has quietly created a teaser website for Fallout Online, offering beta sign-ups. Quoting Massively: "Currently, there isn't much there, just a brief glimpse at a workshop desk with various Fallout references to the Master, Brahmin, and Nuka-Cola before a form obscures the screen. ... It looks legit, too: Interplay is promoting Fallout Online from their main website, and the new teaser site is indeed registered to Interplay Entertainment Corp."

I can related to that. Most people code in PHP because they learn it in 1 day and then they are hooked to it. The power of PHP is its simplicity. We do web stuff with PHP because we tried JAVA and it was TOO costly. To us, any improvement will help as long as it is well documented and documentation has high google page-ranking.
