flash wasn't an option on the devices because jobs had the vision to see that flash was a dead end on mobile. five years later, adobe has conceded the point. even given 5 years of smartphone development, flash still runs poorly on new phones. adobe should go back to the drawing board a la ibm and really think hard about what they do well.

citation needed on this malarkey. CD was sized to fit in a suit pocket? that sounds silly at best. i'd like to see the design documents on that choice! might as well show me a unicorn too while you're at it. who puts CDs in suit pockets? that's like saying the 3.5"floppy was designed to be able to fit into a pb&j sandwich.

the iPhone is fast retreating to the traditional 10% of the market where overpriced luxury goods normally dwell

this is exquisite bs. a new iphone costs $200 with contract, the same as (or less than) new premium android phones like the Galaxy. There are also models at the $100 price point and free with contract. How can you call it an overpriced luxury good? This is a tired meme that used to be true 5 years ago. Also, sorry, iPad is 90% of the market with no challengers on the horizon, and ipad mini will eat nex7's lunch.

omg, here we go, are the rules of language descriptive or proscriptive? can't have a day on slashdot without this conversation. if you want to have an informed discussion on race, you might as well use accurate terms. just cause these subjects are mangled by some people, doesn't mean that we can't aim for a higher standard. hint: the people who don't care about hispanic != latino are usually tea partiers who assume all brown people are either "hispanic" or "arab" and should gtfo!! fyi arab != muslim != persian. This distinction has enormous implications for foreign policy, and needs to be made.
