Comment technically iran is not dictatorship (Score 4, Informative) 280

well technically Iran is a democracy
with democratic elections
and president elected by people.

obviously there are problems
and problems with ballot counting,
however Florida also had ballots accounting problem...

I do not say Iran is a happy place to live
but it is more open than many think.

do you think manifestations would happen in North Corea ?
do you think people would be able to play WoW or use Twitter in many Burma ?

Well, that's exactly what I'm wondering. They claim a resolution of 2,048x1,080 pixels, but wouldn't real 3d be a resolution of say, 2048x1080x1080 at least?

Nah, it's just like viewing one screen with one eye, and another screen with the other eye. So you could say it's 2048x1080x2

which means if there is 540 people in room (with no eye deficiency) then you need 2048x1080x1080

Not all media purchasers are adults. Not all adult media purchasers are purchasing the media for their own use.

Besides, some adults
do not want to watch/play with some material.

For instance
I am not interested in horror films or games.

To take original post words
I would be "pissed of"
if a game ellusively introduced such material.

Some would argue
I have to read games reviews before I buy,

why should I do that ?
Instead of simply pick up a game
and being confident
the game won't bring subjects
I don't want to see
or I don't want my kids to see ?

If I am ok to play "Need for Speed"
I might not be to play GTA

betaboy writes: "An anonymous California Catholic Daily reporter deems my web site, school and school newspaper as "Uncatholic" due to the inclusion of oral sex and homosexuality in our site's dictionary. Microsoft Details FOSS Patent Breaches 576

CptRevelation writes "Microsoft has released more detailed information on the patents supposedly in breach by the open-source community. Despite their accusations of infringement, they state they would rather do licensing deals instead of any legal action. 'Open-source programs step on 235 Microsoft patents, the company said. Free Linux software violates 42 patents. Graphical user interfaces, the way menus and windows look on the screen, breach 65. E-mail programs step on 15, and other programs touch 68 other patents, the company said. The patent figures were first reported by Fortune magazine. Microsoft also said Open Office, an open-source program supported in part by Sun Microsystems Inc., infringes on 45 patents. Sun declined to comment on the allegation.'"
