Pool's entirely reasonable characterisation of the Time article.

Was this the article that describes a well funded and organized "cabal" (the word from the article) of elite democrats from disparate fields to "fortify" the election to achieve "the proper result" since, at the time, Trump was holding steady in the polls?

Remember. Half the people are below average.

I'm assuming you're referencing the Carlin quote, "Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that"
Remember that he's a comedian.
Now consider the IQ bell curve and what it means. Even if you assume that Average is the exact point on the graph where IQ=100, then there are a lot of people on that line, which means that less than half of the total people are in the less than 100 IQ range. If you take the view that average intelligence is a range of IQs, let's say 90-110, then that's a huge portion of the population (area under the curve for that range), further reducing the number of lower-IQ people. Carlin's joke relies on its own ridiculous premise to provide the humor. It should not be used as basis for argument.

Yes, thats technically true. Your motivation may not be this, but there are huge swaths of people bringing this up as though their pointing out of this technicality is somehow profound enough to prevent it from happening. It isn't. Could something happen between now and then? Yes, technically. But this is as impactful as people at a sporting event gloating "it's not over till its over" with the score not in their favor and the clock about to run out. Which is to say, basically not at all.

Changes over that period have happened in many elections, to the point that "faithless electors" is a term. Changes in vote counts over that period have also occurred, most notably, the election in 2000 where Gore was the announced president-elect for a month until the Supreme Court decided in favor of Bush.
My motivation is education so that people can themselves continue to be technically correct; nothing I can say on a website will change the current outcome one way or the other, but if people can discuss things with correct definitions, then there will be fewer misunderstandings. Biden is currently the projected president elect.

Comment Digital comics are pants. (Score 1) 20

The old comics with predictable frame sequences can be read easily in electronic format, but anything from the late 80's onward requires the ability to see the entire two-page splash to know which direction you're supposed to scroll on your not-adequately-sized-for-comics-pages digital device. Even reading them in trade format can be hard since sometimes comics artists forget that trades can't bend their spines 180 degrees open, and they draw solely for the periodicals.
