I remember on USENET, where you can pretty much say/do anything and people did....

You still had a better sound to noise ratio than you do with FB or twitter.

Facebook and twitter are composed largely of average people, and as Brad Dourif once remarked, "Average is dumb." Before Eternal September, USENET was largely only populated by people who were smart enough to wrangle USENET access - mostly university students. Then AOL and WebTV got involved, the barriers to entry dropped, and we started seeing the level of discourse drop in quality.

Henry: You get on baiting those elephant traps.

Minnie: I don't see the point of them, you know.

Henry: What?

Minnie: We've never caught one.

Henry: That doesn't mean we must stop trying, Min of mine. Think of the dangers! Supposing you came down one morning for a cream-strainer, and found an elephant in the larder, eh?

Minnie: Well, I've never seen an elephant in the larder.

Henry: That is because they're hiding, Min of mine.

Minnie: Where do elephants hide? Tell me that! Where do elephants hide, buddy?

Henry: Well, I don't know, Saxophone-Min, but it's clear to me that they must hide somewhere. How else could they get away with it for so long?

They will have to feed classical music and public domain progressions to the AI and/or other algorithm to detect, annotate, and exclude them from songs or at least put a flag to indicate that.

They will have to feed EVERYTHING into it. Sorry, that wistful acoustic ditty you uploaded bears a striking resemblance to Skinny Puppy's "Last Call".

He could come out tomorrow and say, "QAnon is a hoax, I made the whole thing up. Thanks for the money, suckers!" and those followers would think it was some kind of coverup to keep them from the truth.

Right now, i think the only person who could successfully defuse this thing is John DeLancie.
