You just read me Apple's marketing brochure. I've seen it already.
Apple's got a half generation leap on the competition at TSMC with their 5nm fab. Good on them. But I don't think their engineers are any better than those at AMD or Intel. Actually, Intel really screwed up with their failed 10nm fab process but their chip design engineers are still best in class. Which doesn't insult Apple's good work here. It's just that, nothing Apple has done with ARM is magic or special.
As I said before, that silly performance is due to cutting the clock divisor between system and RAM. Along with a nocopy across the bus between system and GPU. Nice idea. Great for laptops and tablets. Congratulations to Apple for that innovation. But given its memory constraints, an absolutely terrible design for production workflows.
