I agree on Launchpad, it's fairly dumb. If I don't use an app often enough for the Dock, I always have a Finder window open anyway. When my dad installed Win8, he was always going through pages of applications trying to find the one he wanted. Told him he didn't have to do it that way. He's not a dumb guy, but he's also the type of guy who refuses to ask for directions (or do a simple Google search for an answer).

I get touch control for tablets. What I don't get is why MS thinks people are going to want to be waving their arms around like monkeys on large-screen desktop systems. Heh, it would be funny if MS released it's version of the NES PowerGlove. (AVGN would be so proud.)

It is also more than the President. Sure, each one gets to appoint his cabinet, and the cabinet heads might put in some new upper level folks, but the rest of the departments are still the same drones as before. It's not the Pres or the department heads that are taking forever, it's the drones that just don't give a fuck. I wouldn't be surprised if it was one guy/gal's only job to redact this one document, and did so at a pace of 1 page per day. Then spent 7 hours having monkey sex in various broom closets with interns.

The issue is not "intermittent Internet connectivity." Most of the people who are spun up on this are concerned about the principle of always-on DRM in general. Even if people had an iron-clad agreement with their ISP that they would provide them with five-nines uptime on my WAN connection, it doesn't change the basic principle that lots of people are miffed that their Internet connection is being used on a 24-hour basis to demonstrate that they are, in fact, not thieves.

Of course, this doesn't even address the fact that the most reliable Internet connection in the world is completely useless if the server(s) that you're attempting to connect to are down due to incompetence, unanticipated demand, DDoS attacks, etc.

As I said above, they are improvements. Every thing you say is an improvement- low power, multi-core, touchscreen sensitivity, tiny GPS receiver. Notice all those adjectives? Then you go and say that everything you just listed already existed. You said "invented." Stop fumbling about and just admit you used the wrong word.
