Deregulation was a double-edged sword: it made travel affordable for anyone, but killed off the luxury and glamour forever.

Just book first class, and you'll receive a similar level of luxury as you did when flying in the 50s (arguably more because the engines are quieter and the in-flight entertainment systems are better), at a similar price tag. Not sure how the fact that other passengers in another part of the plane, well out of sight, get to take the same flight at a much lower price and level of comfort, constitutes a "double-edged sword".

COVID killed the A380? IT LITERALLY SAYS IN THE SUMMARY: "Airbus announced last year it would stop manufacturing the plane"

Without the virus, the existing planes would've kept flying for years. Now it looks like most major carriers that have A380s in their fleet will retire them immediately.

You guys have really never understood haggling have you?

From all I can see, the only thing the US's colossal mishandling of this pandemic is doing internationally is that it's turning the country into a laughing stock and making China more popular than ever. Which is remarkable, considering the fact that the virus originated in China. Trying to shift blame for all those domestic f*ckups to the WHO isn't helping either. You try and spin that into a victory for Trump.

Yeah, Trump has been playing three-dimensional chess through five decades and seven bankruptcies. We know it already.

What happened to nuclear disarmament in North Korea btw.? Does Trump have anything to show in return for publicly shaking hands with the world's most brutal dictator and hanging the American flag alongside the North Korean one? What happened to the agreement with Putin in Helsinki. Oh right, no American except Trump was present in the room, so I guess we have to ask the Russian FSB about that one. :D

The Republicans have several large cable TV stations that "fact check" Democrats all the time. Just a side note here -- I'm pretty sure it would help Trump's reelection effort if Twitter shut down his account. He himself wouldn't understand this, but it's true. His base is gonna vote for him no matter what at this point. And undecided voters are scared off by all his bullshit tweets. They will be more tempted to vote for him the more he disappears from the public eye, because that would create the illusion that he's "working".

My post was meant sarcastically. I guess that wasn't obvious enough. So to be perfectly clear: No I wouldn't believe anything Trump says without independent confirmation. I'm still waiting for those names of American citizens other than Trump himself who know what Trump and Putin talked about in Helsinki. Oh right, you can't name any. Or maybe you could tell us what Trump's financial interests are in Russia or other foreign countries that don't have the US's best interests at heart. It appears you can't do that either, because Trump hasn't divested from his business and isn't releasing his tax returns.

But obviously you think it's totally cool that President Trump has unknown business dealings with foreign countries and is holding secret talks with foreign leaders who follow their own agendas, but whom Trump considers his personal "friends" because they praised and flattered him sufficiently. Trump won't tell any Americans what he talked about with those foreigners, and you think that's OK because Trump is your guy and those other Americans are the "deep state". So you've basically swallowed your own information bubble's propaganda hook, line and sinker. Congratulations. :-D

That would be the Deep State that promoted the Russia hoax, claiming Trump was acting as an agent of Russia.

Nobody is claiming that. It's just not clear what Trump's relationship with Russia is. Can you tell us what Trump and Putin talked about at their meeting in Helsinki? Or can you name any American citizen other than Trump himself who knows it? You can't, because they met alone, so now only Trump, Putin and the Russian FSB know what transpired there. That's a legitimate cause for concern, and if the "deep state" -- which is really just bullshit AltRight code for "rule of law" -- is concerned about this, then more power to them.

Well first of all, if 100% stay at home, the virus would be totally eradicated in 2 or 3 weeks.

Now, since 100% can't stay home, the ersatz idea is that as many people as possible stay at home as much as possible, bringing the reproductive number below 1 and thus making the infection rate fall instead of rise, until the rate has fallen to a value where you can control the spread entirely through mass testing and contact tracing of infected people, while at the same time lifting the majority of the restrictions for everyone. This is working in other countries. And if you listen to Fauci, this is what he's actually proposing, as opposed to "everyone stays at home indefinitely".
