Exactly. High incarceration rate? Look at the rest of the hemisphere. At least America is actually trying to incarcerate some of them. If you're a turd in Mexico or just about anywhere in South America you're on the street until someone kills you. Statistically this is better?

It's kind of hard to get all worked up over. It's not something people are going to be able to do in great numbers for almost certainly many decades. As scientific accomplishments go this also seems like ti was almost inevitable. It was always require a certain amount of technological involvement to remain possible and so it's among the many things that will not be possible the moment the human race decides to try and wipe itself out. If human civilization lasts long enough for this to become common then so be it. We'll have far more to worry about at that point then two men making a baby. If human civilization stumbles and we find ourselves set back to subsistance farming then it won't be possible at all. "What else is on?"

Of course there aren't. The people doing that aren't trying to destroy our social structures intentionally. They're just trying to make a profit or "make something better" without regard to what effect it has on them. It's almost all inadvertent and always has been. These things aren't done because the people making them happen are evil. They're done because they just don't give a crap.

I'm still chugging along on an upgraded Mini 2012 model. It works fine but I try to upgrade about once every ten or so years. My existing Mini replaced a Powermac G5 I bought in 2003 and the only reason that one went out the door when it did was the supported applications started disappearing when they all stopped supporting their PowerPC versions.
