Comment "Too Queasy"? (Score 1) 247

"Over the summer, flight doctors will analyze the data to ensure it does not make astronauts too queasy."

They're testing a the system for it's performance during an aborted launch and they're worried about the astronauts getting too queasy? If they have to abort a real launch, you would think that a couple of astronauts chucking would be the least of their worries. Survivability I understand, but this is not a theme park ride we're talking about here.

At least in Apocalypse Now it was intentionally over the top to hammer a point home. Every use of it since then has missed that point entirely.

Where are people getting 22mbps over cable? Or is it fiber?

And why do your parents need that kind of bandwidth? Email? Web Browsing? YouTube? Torrent Seeding?

And if the extra 256MB keeps XP from paging, it may get you close to 2x.

Refuse the breathalyzer and tell them you want a blood test instead. That removes a major piece of questionable technology from the process and gives your attorney other better known avenues to question the evidence or evidence gathering process. Also, it's not always easy for them to get a tech to do the work at 3am.

I know there are people like myself who purchase games, don't install them, but do install a downloaded copy that has the DRM restrictions removed. This may or may not be viable with Steam-related DRM, but I'm anti-social enough that online multiplayer doesn't really hold a whole lot of appeal for me. And if I did decide that I absolutely had to play something online, I setup an account just for that game so that I could resell my original copy (with the account info) when I was finished with it.
