Your intent isn't to save lives. Stop pretending it is to save lives.

All lives die. You want to stroke your savior ego, fine. Go stroke it.

You didn't care about the 3.3 million people who died in the US in 2019. But now the propaganda campaign on TV has you in an excited delirium to save 60+ year olds from dying a few months earlier than they would have without COVID.

Get over yourself.

66,000,000 Estimated infected in the United States based on seroprevalence estimates.

COVID Death Statistics
Age 85+: 180,608
Age 75-84: 167,533
Age 65-74: 137,149
Age 54-64: 178,155
Age 35-54: 63,841
Age 30-35: 7,501
Less than 30: ~7,000
----
614,531 deaths out of 66,000,000 infections. About 0.037% of people who had SARS-COV2 died of SARS-COV2.

Most of the deaths had 3+ co-morbidities. Obesity being a prime COVID death co-morbidity. Fat people who couldn't stop shoving big macs into their mouths died. Let me know when I should care.

You want to save a few of these 65+ year olds? Maybe you can start by getting some of these obese 20, 30, 40 year olds into the gym before SARS-COV-2 gets to them.

There were plenty of people who died in 2019; they could have been prevented too. Maybe you can work to save everyone so no one dies anymore. I support your effort! Or maybe once the TV fear porn stops, you can get over your Jesus complex.

I'm just going to go about with my life. I won't tell you how to live, and you should keep your leaky experimental unapproved gene therapy for yourself and stop pushing it on others fascist. Take it early, take it as often as you need to make yourself feel safe.

This is all true, and yet mRNA vaccines still aren't gene therapy. The mRNA from the vaccine is not transcribed into your cell's RNA. There are no permanent changes to your genetic code. It's not gene therapy.

In molecular biology, messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) is a single-stranded molecule of RNA that corresponds to the genetic sequence of a gene, and is read by a ribosome in the process of synthesizing a protein. These are mRNA vaccines - manmade genetic code made to infiltrate your cells, hijack their machinery, and produce proteins. Gene therapy is an experimental technique that uses genes to treat or prevent disease.

Please, enlighten me on the difference. Specifically, what criteria need to be met by approval that don't need to be met by emergency authorization? Have the vaccines actually failed to meet these criteria? If they did meet these criteria, would you change your mind about them?

"Emergency use authorization" == NOT approved.

Emergency Use Authorization for Vaccines Explained https://www.fda.gov/vaccines-blood-biologics/vaccines/emergency-use-authorization-vaccines-explained

An Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) is a mechanism to facilitate the availability and use of medical countermeasures, including vaccines, during public health emergencies, such as the current COVID-19 pandemic. Under an EUA, FDA may allow the use of unapproved medical products, or unapproved uses of approved medical products in an emergency to diagnose, treat, or prevent serious or life-threatening diseases or conditions when certain statutory criteria have been met, including that there are no adequate, approved, and available alternatives.

Not approved. Experimental. No known long term effects. Not approved.

1) It is repeated in the 'news' often. The 'news' refers to anonymous "experts" about the subject.

2) The peasants repeat it...

Buildings with smoke detectors sometimes burn down. People wearing seat belts sometimes die in car accidents. And vaccinated people sometimes contract the disease against which they're vaccinated. Prevention is not the same as elimination, and the vaccines do prevent spread and mutations.

These vaccines prevent neither spread, nor mutations. They're symptom relief. These vaccines are being sold to us as being the key to being free, allowed to go into gyms, restaurants, grocery stores and stopping the pandemic. They do not stop the pandemic. They're symptom relief. Like Ibuprofen doesn't cure a cold. It's just symptom relief. Not sterilizing.

The vaccine does contain genetic material, but it doesn't change your genome, so it's not gene therapy. If you think it is, you should read some more about how these vaccines work.

The vaccines were approved for emergency use by the FDA. It certainly looks like the US is still in an emergency.

Assessment of SARS-CoV-2 Reinfection 1 Year After Primary Infection in a Population in Lombardy, Italy https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamainternalmedicine/fullarticle/2780557

The study results suggest that reinfections are rare events and patients who have recovered from COVID-19 have a lower risk of reinfection. Natural immunity to SARS-CoV-2 appears to confer a protective effect for at least a year, which is similar to the protection reported in recent vaccine studies. However, the observation ended before SARS-CoV-2 variants began to spread, and it is unknown how well natural immunity to the wild-type virus will protect against variants.

Natural immunity that has served animals for all of time wins.

This makes it sound like you're arguing against the concept of medicine. It's true that natural immunity is pretty good at keeping species alive, but it's not so great for individuals. Take chimpanzees, for example. All chimps are immune to SIV. You know how that happened? All the ones who weren't died.

And besides, we're humans. Why should we restrict ourselves to what nature provides? We can do better.

You believe experimental gene therapy is better for you. I believe natural acquired immunity is better for me. I'd like to stay in the control group. You can be in the experimental group. One of us, two of us, or neither of us is right. Time will tell. Last time I checked, man made roundup was touted as amazing for us. How many years did it take before it was found to cause cancers and long term effects.

Weird that you argue that natural immunity is arguing against the concept of medicine. All the chimps are immune to SIV. That sounds like a good thing for the species. Taking out the trash is never a bad thing.

It is a sterilizing vaccine in the sense that it helps you clear the pathogen, rather than, say, a vaccine against a bacterial toxin that protects you from the toxin but doesn't help you clear the bacterium. No vaccine can provide a complete barrier to a pathogen, it has to interact with your humoral immune system before your body can respond. After that it is just a matter of how long the response takes. More boosters, increased number of memory cells distributed in your body, faster response.

Can't remember the last time we had to mask up to avoid polio and measles. Can't wait for the morning, lunch and good night boosters.

it is you who puts it under evolutionary pressure, not me.

From this, I can only conclude that you don't understand how either the human immune system or evolution work. And looking at some of your previous comments, I get the impression that you also don't understand how vaccines work.

In both vaccinated and unvaccinated people who get infected, evolutionary pressure applied on the virus by your immune system. The vaccine doesn't fight the virus directly; instead it trains your immune system to recognize and fight the virus more effectively. As a result, in vaccinated people, the immune system reacts more quickly and more strongly. Vaccinated people recover more quickly, and are contagious for less time. As a result, the virus has fewer opportunities to mutate in a vaccinated population.

---
This is a non-sterilizing vaccine. People who are vaccinated get infected with SARS-CoV2, and produce just as much virus as non-vaccinated people. It is why you have whole vaccinated teams of sports players testing positive and coming down with COVID.
---
The study, published by CDC Friday, describes 469 Massachusetts residents who were infected in a July outbreak in Barnstable County, which includes the summer vacation destination Provincetown. No deaths were reported among them.
About 74% -- or 346 cases -- had been fully vaccinated. Of those cases, 79% reported symptoms. Genetically sequenced cases revealed the Delta variant as the main culprit.
---

'Breakthrough' cases aren't rare. They're very common. It's why there are mask mandates and lock down talks again even with 50%+ vaccinated people - the vaccines don't work to prevent spread and mutations.

Vaccinated people are injected with an experimental gene therapy directing your body to produce copious amounts of the spike protein - and the spike protein only - putting evolutionary selective pressure on the virus mutating around the vaccine's only target. These vaccines are not FDA approved. These vaccines are not tested in people the same way prior vaccines were tested (over many years) which is why their manufacturers are excluded from any liability. Long term auto-immune, cancer, fertility and reproductive questions have no answers, yet; it's a running experiment.
