Submission + - Submitting "Nuking the Fridge" to Scientific Peer Review (overthinkingit.com)

An anonymous reader writes: George Lucas claims there was "a 50/50 chance" Indiana Jones could survive the atomic blast in Legend of the Crystal Skull by hiding inside a refrigerator. Dr. David Shechner subjects this claim to rigorous peer review, and his findings are not good news for people looking to hide from nukes in appliances.

I've had a few laptops stolen from a computer lab that were chained down with kensington locks.. They managed to get the window off its rails, then reach in and pull 3 laptops out, all 3 of them the locks weren't strong enough to survive them pulling them hard enough. Maybe it was because I used a cheaper brand lock or something, but still kinda annoying :(

I'm assuming you're trolling. TinyTower may be inspired by SimTower, but it's not as if it's a complete copy of the game (SimTower for example you didn't manage anything to do with the people, you handled the tower, they handled themselves). Zynga's tower is a complete ripoff of TinyTower, even down to the 'tiny' details.

Noooo, Promethium boards aren't that good. The SmartTech SmartBoards are better, the software is much much nicer. Have a good look at the one you want, the new ones use DViT tech (ie. Cameras and InfraRed lights to work out where you're touching). The closer you can get without it registering a touch the better. I've got a Hitachi board and it registers your finger like 1.5cm out and the software is the worst I've ever seen. The SmartBoards are about 0.4cm out from the board that it registers your touch (ie. you pretty much have to touch the board for it to detect) and the software is quite good :)

Comment It's just ambient (Score 1) 239

The music is from a pretty common genre called Ambient. There's a LOT of music out there very similar to this, it's not some "magical track" that someone put together for this specific purpose, it's just a normal 60-50bpm soundscaped ambient track... Other artists in this category: Yellow6, Hybryds, Good Night, Gel Sol, Ishq, Kenji Williams, Ishvara, Ishq, Senzar, Grey Area, Lähtö, Foundation Hope, Our Sleepless Forest, Bluetech, Steinbrüchel, Aethenor, Steve Roach... And that's just the names I can think off the top of my head...
