True. I have Comcast, but there are no alternatives for broadband. I generally like my service, just not the 1 terabyte cap that I've gone over the grace twice (you get two free).
Sounds like they're tightening the screws lately. I'm overseas for a few months, so I'll have to try to log in and fix it by the time I get home.
Do users turn this on, or is it a default setting? I'd be upset if it were forced on people. This sounds like a violation of net neutrality, which is still in place for a while longer.
More likely you're thinking of ephebophiles. I've heard of few pre-teens victimized in the school system.
That's not how any of this works
So you're buying a hospital visit for the flu, would you like to add an additional warranty for $10?
Hmm, I won't get into that argument. Who knows. Definitely a 4th amendment issue.
That's accurate, but it depends on if it wipes it with random binary a few times and then with all zeros after. Deletion will just leave the data accessible.
There is no security when a backdoor exists. Once it is known, everyone will work to get in, and you wont find out it was cracked until it has been heavily exploited.
If the VPN is not based in the USA, then it doesn't matter that an overreaching state fee exists.
This is a money grab, and it is not criminalizing anything, so your examples are too extreme for this scenario.
A VPN that is connecting through some other state, or some other country would easily defeat this.
I'm torn with all that too. My 2012 MacBook Pro died right before this deployment. I didn't want to spend what it costs to replace it, so went with a HP "gaming" laptop with a Radeon and fast processor, and it's pretty thin, just not MBA thin. I miss Mac OSX, but using Office 2016 on Windows is much nicer for that, and I don't have to dual boot for Steam. I wish there were better options.
Scary Terry has a response for you. You do realize I never said no one should have them, yet you said this anyway.
Don't panic.
