Well of all the things you quoted that my tax dollars pay for, only one of them is entirely federal. Several of the other items you mentioned were entirely state or local, and a few fall somewhere in between depending on how high up the food chain we choose to march. And some of the things you mentioned I don't have to deal with, like public water.

Since we're talking about the Constitution, that means we're going to focus on the federal aspect of the issue. If the framers of the government had intended to guarantee us entitlement programs, why aren't they in the Constitution? If the people had saw fit, why aren't there any amendments guaranteeing said programs?

But as for regulation, you're right. A very small minority should not be allowed to screw over everyone else (what's what the majority is for) and while I'm not a huge fan of government intervention (Live Free or Die) I do realize there has to be some modicum of regulation or you do get the aforementioned screwage. However, that does encourage me to be one of those 30,000 doesn't it, as far as social Darwinism goes?
