Comment Wrong approach (Score 1) 153

Feh. Making a card with a pristine look that can be easily marred is the wrong approach. They should have made a card with an attractive living finish that is designed to change with use, resulting in each customer ending up with their own uniquely personal card they can proudly show off. It could become a new Apple fad. People would look up tips on how to get the card to change in ways they want. There would be sites where people post pictures of their card. Some people would even get multiple cards to try for different looks...

The culprits were soon pretty obvious. The Hollywood Reporter found that the Chinese company Tencent is co-financing the sequel. Co-producing the film along with Paramount Pictures is Skydance, which is partially owned by Tencent.

The film is being partially financed and produced by a Chinese company. Why is it surprising that Chinese sensibilities are being taken into account?

I'm not really sure what you have a problem with here. Epic is selling something that doesn't affect game play, for people to buy, if they want. I don't see how that implies Epic is happy that children bully each other. If I sell sporting goods and some people who buy baseball bats use them to beat people are you going to accuse me of being happy that people beat others with bats?

It makes sense to me. What percentage of people either have poor judgement or aren't nearly as funny as they think they are? How many employees does Microsoft have? Doing the math seems to give a pretty good chance of someone doing something stupid that makes Microsoft look bad if left free to perform publicly visible pranks.
