My dad returned to farming after retirement. If he grew lettuce, he would have made nothing you need to grow real cash crops. Another change is the disappearance of the local grocery store. He was able to negotiate a fair price for produce. The store received fresh picked produce delivered to them. The consumer recieved fresher product than they otherwise would have. Everyone won.

Big box stores needs to convert on location in each city to vertical farming they need to contract to firms like this who can deliver high profit crops year round. Berries, tomatoes, etc.

Been thinking about this. One big complaints is the short term rental market is moving to individuals renting their property through the apps. So, why not, have hotel pivot to small space long term rentals? In New York these would house tens of thousands of employed renters. I donâ(TM)t know what the situation is in San Francisco.

In business when the market changes considerable you try to stay with your core but cater to the new paying customer. And cutting costs. -refits will sink, so if this is just about a slight decrease in profits it is not a good idea. Grading is tricky. Ideally it would be pass fail based on some reasonable level of demonstration of mastery for skills and knowledge by some date certain. But many parents and students just want task completion. Which is meaningless. Why should someone get a better grade just because they copied all the worksheets. Ultimately the pressure to get a certain promotion and graduation rate forces a compromise

There is a social and baby sitting component to in person school that will make it attractive to parents for a long time. In the US I do think we will see sports organizing set in schools in the high grades that re more rigorous than average. What I would not expect to see is school becoming nicer. Like the apocraphal story of the kid being sent into the woods tripping on cocoa beans only armed with a knife. Some did not survive. Although we have the resources to provide for most of population, it is useful to minimize the dependencies.

We see this with drug, cars, etc, the primary causes of death for the teen. Most of either abstain or survive. Social media, like cars and drugs, are not seen as a primary method to integrate adult, but the the others tends to be a skill useful to learn, how not to die or receive significant harm.

But as it is not a skill old people had to learn or manage, it is only seen as harmful. There is no calculation. If you are a teen in the US that dies and donâ(TM)t shoot yourself or get shot, you likely died in a car accident. Yet we drive cars.
