The fraud is rather irrelevant.
Dems vs Reps is like asking whether you would prefer to be hit by a war-hammer or a mace, it is going to hurt wither way.
It is not an election, it is a selection.

Lets top it off with the inability to write in votes (at least here in VA where I voted last November).

The people holding the control are not voted in by "we the people". They are the ones receiving tons and tons of money in bailouts, then posting profits. Those with the money set the rules in their favor, the POTUS and such are nothing but figureheads ramming through the policies that ultimately profit those in power.

Remove the hype.
Look closer.
Prepare.

There are ways of combining electronic and paper systems so that they are more reliable and more difficult to defraud then either paper or electronic alone. The problem is that no one seems to be willing to sell such a machine.

No, the problem is that no one wanting to count the votes would be willing to BUY such a tamperproof machine.

You are very close. It is about what the users are willing to pay, for prestige or otherwise.

It is just like the pharma companies here Stateside. If they can spend $0.10 making 10 pills, and have the choice of selling 10 of them for $10 each to 10 men or 1 of them for $100 to one man, they will set $100 as the price point every time. even though 9 of those 10 men cannot possibly afford the $100 and therefore go without the needed medical care, the companies are in it for the money. Period.

Lets see a national health care plan realistically address that issue and pharma sell the meds for the price they do in India.

A HUD is exactly what I pictured here, but in an abstract kind of way. It wasn't bad enough to have the Apple dorks running around flashing their little iPhones at everyone, now they will be running around with them glued over one eye asking everyone if they have seen Sarah Conner.

There could be life somewhere else... but how would it be better? It's like saying life conditions in a particular continent are better than on another continent, so life is more in danger/ is better off there

Australia vs Antarctica, you do the math.

How do we know the dna mutations occuring (which according to the articles may have influenced life, endangered it)... didnt actually foster the right mutations for life as we know it... we dont have a recipy for life, let alone ideal life.

Lets see, the kangaroo, the ostrich or the platypus seem pretty specialized, which means there were probably TONS of mutations that didn't make it. Basic Darwinism. We may not have a recipe for life, but if you throw the same ingredients together in various proportions (flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, water, egg, oil and chocolate chips) you will eventually get some damned good cookies. The recipies that don't get eaten are in danger (endangered) of being thrown out.

I'll go even further and say that supposing we had an orange dwarf which according to the article lasts 10 or 20 times more... we may never be encouraged to leave our solar system... sometimes, knowing we're doomed if we dont do anything about it is actually a motivator to save our necks by working more. So the fact that we are doomed - in a long term - will force us to find other habitable places.
This one I actually agree with, it is like lighting a long term fire under our collective asses. Judging by Humans' propensity towards procrastination, by the time it is hot enough to make us move, they may be some very tan asses.

I saw news of a study a few weeks ago (here maybe?) That showed the same genes that are associated with schizophrenia are also linked to creativity, and that the difference between a schizophrenic and a creative person was intelligence.

I have personal proof of this,
My doctor prescribed me a medication-Risperdal(Risperidone) to help me sleep and when I took it, I lost all creativity for a few days. I did a little research and found that the main use of this drug was as an anti-psychotic. I'd rather not sleep as well and be crazy like a fox than sleep well and be relatively normal. Amusingly, pot has the same effect on me, and to a small degree, anti-histamines.

The constant sleep-dep may have had a little to do with the creativity, like DaVinci, but not as extreme.

You know that schizophrenia affects 1% of the population worldwide?

BTW, I think its its schizo, not schitzo.
